Why?

In 2010 Dean and Alban placed 48 magnetic views of Walthamstow on the streets of the local area and invited the public to find and pick them up. They also exhibited a complete set at The Vestry House Museum, where viewers could play and re-arrange the composition, creating a virtual local walk.

In 2011 they wanted to create a 24 hour exhibition that celebrated their love of birds, art and the local environment. Hidebird is a bird hide in the front garden of 28 Barrett Road. They have created a 'Spotters Guide' so that viewers can find, spot and tick off the different birds in the true tradition of British birdwatching. It is also an opportunity for us to consider what the birds may think about humans. After all they inhabit the gardens and streets around out houses, and must see much of our unusual behaviour. I wonder what they must think!

2012 sees an expansion to the exhibition with an open submission from national and international artists. Many of the residents of Barrett Road have asked to get involved too. So the duo will be placing birds in front windows, creating more of a challenge for Art Twitchers trying to spot the birds on the E17 Trail.
